To kick start the year 2009, and as part of our website launch, we have been scouring our media archives to bring you brand new, unseen footage from David's personal library. Every week we will be posting new out-takes, interviews, magic segments, celebrity encounters, and other never-before-seen clips on the front page of our site.

You can't get this footage from any other source so make sure to come back and check out those new Videos. And don't forget to look out for new notes from David, updates in our new feed, limited-time merchandise sales and new products available for purchase, exclusively through our Webstore.

Thanks for your continuing interest and support. David is truly blessed to have you all in his life and he looks forward to becoming more interactive with everyone and keeping each of you updated on his life. Feel free to give us feedback about the site and let us know what you would like to see more of in the future.

Have a happy and healthy new year, and remember to keep checking back with us!

This was a letter sent to one of David's doctors, while he was training to break the world record for longest breath hold.  David was told by many that this feat was simply not possible. The letter describes the sheer unlikelihood that David would ever be able to reach such a marvel achievement.

David was recognized in the 2009 Guinness Book of World Records for holding his breath 17 minutes 4.4 seconds, smashing the previous world record of 16 minutes 32 seconds.

David doesn't know the meaning of impossible.

db likes to spend his holy days doing magic to people that can use a bit of a distraction. Did any of you do that? Leave a comment with your stories. David looks forward to reading them

December 23, 2008 --

DAVID Blaine literally gave the coat off his back today as he donated his outerwear to the New York Cares coat drive. The magic man - who once spent 63 hours in a block of ice - then stood in Bryant Park, wearing only a T-shirt and slacks in 15-degree weather, collecting coats and autographing his custom playing cards. "If you really want to understand why the Coat Drive is important, try standing outside for an hour without a coat," Blaine explained. He apologized that he couldn't do magic for the coat donors - his hands were too cold.

Today, we announce an image contest hosted directly by db and t11. The challenge is to create a visual; an image; a video. It can be in the form of a video or a photo; the only requirement being that your creation should utilize and display the Split Spade Lions in the most captivating manner possible. Cardistry, magic, or abstract - anything goes.

All submissions must be in by December 31st, 2008 at midnight EST. Contest submissions will be judged directly by David Blaine and the {db} creative team. Submissions should be posted in response to THIS forum thread. Images can be attached to your post; videos can be uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo. You have two weeks to make it happen. You have two weeks to enter.

We will select ONE winner out of all submissions. The winning submission will be featured on the main page of DavidBlaine.com and theory11 for one full week, and the creator will receive a prize package consisting of one uncut Split Spade sheet signed to you by David Blaine (unattainable) and 3 signed, authentic db posters.
